It Seems Like The Rain Just Won’t Stop

The weather here in the Mid-West has not been very friendly lately. Well, at least not if you are a sprint car driver, like me, racing on dirt ovals. I am not just talking about some rain here, I am talking about some of the most drenching
storms we have ever had.

Due to some cancellations and Angel Park closing, we only had two races in the month of June scheduled to beging with. Because of all the rain we have had, the two races we had scheduled were also cancelled. I have never went a whole month during a season with out racing. I am going crazy! I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of my car again and start competing.

Don’t get me wrong, I know we need the rain, but I need to race. My boyfriend is a farmer and ever he has seen enough rain for awhile.

The good thing about all the down time is that my team has had some extra time to go over my car and make some much needed improvements. Anyone that follows my racing knows that reliability has been a big problem for me this year. All of us on the team can’t wait to get back on the track to see if we have solved some of our problems.

As you may recall, we started out the year with drive chain problems. Then, we felt we we had that sorted out and then started experiencing transmission troubles. The team is pretty sure they have these problems fixed, but you just never know untill you get out there and put components under the stress of racing.

Please check back to see if we finally get a race in.
