Please Help Turning Point
I know first hand how tough times are financially right now. Right now I am not able to race as much as I would like. Also, I am getting up for work at 2:00 am, working a full shift, going home for a quick nap, and then back to work for another shift. The reason I have to do this is to survive and pay off college. Oh yeah, and race of course.
My point is, even as much as I am struggling, I am still able to help people that are less fortunate than me. I am still donating all of the money I win from racing to my favorite charity, Turning Point.
The women and children at turning point need your help now more than ever. When the economy is bad, charities are one of the first organizations to suffer. Think about it like this, when most people have less income they have to give up some luxuries. My question is, what do you give up if you don’t have any luxuries to begin with? The answer is, necessities like food and shelter.
The ladies and kids at Turning Point have already suffered enough do to domestic violence. Please help them get on with their lives. Any amount you can donate, no matter how much will help. The people that say, “I can’t afford much”, are the people that can do the most to help. Just imagine if a thousand people sent $10. The easy math says that is $10,000 that can go a long way to helping.
Please do what you can to help.
McHenry County Turning Point is the only shelter in McHenry County for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. To learn more about Turning Point or to make a donation, please visit www.mchenrycountyturningpoint.org.
