PLYMOUTH RACEWAY
PLYMOUTH, WI
9-26-09
I love new challenges and there are none bigger than going to a new track. I had never
raced at Plymouth before and I was very excited to take on this challenge.
Plymouth Raceway is a little bigger and higher banked than most tracks I race on. What
this means is higher speeds. There is nothing I love more than going faster!

Heat Race:
We did not get much track time during “hot Laps”, therefore my main goal during the heat
race was to find the fastest way around this track. By the end of the race I was very happy
with the line I had found.
It may have taken awhile but I was very fast by the end of the race. I only finished 3rd,
but that did not really matter. As long as I was fast during the feature race was all I
cared about.

Feature Race:
I started the race in 6th place. The track was rough, very rough! In fact, it may have been
the roughest track I have ever raced on. The strange thing was that even though it was
so rough, it was also still very tacky. This combination made it very hard for my crew to
decide on a set up.
I would like to say I jumped right up into 3rd place. However, it was a hard fight as I
moved from 6th to 3rd place. Every pass took two or three attempts.
By the time I had moved into 3rd place, 1st and 2nd place had quite a good lead over me.
I pushed hard and was able to catch up with the 2nd place car. Just as I was making my
pass on him, the caution flag came out.
For some reason, before the restart, the track officials put two lapped cars between the
first two cars and myself. It took me a few laps to get around the two lapped cars. I was
running out of time, but was not about to give up.
With just one lap to go I had caught back up to 2nd place. I tried to make my pass, but
came up just a little short.

I am never truly happy unless I win. However, it was not a bad way to finish a very tough
season of racing.
